  4. Here's information on handling the new Hypercard virus with SAM 3.0.  The
  5. definitions provided below are for protection and detection only.  If you would
  6. like repair for this new virus, then you must use the new virus definition file
  7. for SAM 3.0 dated 4/01/91, it is enclosed in this folder.

  9. To add the new HC Virus definitions, do the following:

  11. Open the Data Definitions dialog in SAM 3.0 Virus Clinic by choosing "Add
  12. Definition (Data)" from the Definitions menu. Then enter the following
  13. information:

  15.                Virus Name: HC Virus
  16.                 File Type: STAK
  17. Search String pop-up menu: ASCII
  18.  Search String text field: if char 1 to 2 of LookAtDate <11
  19.  
  20. The string in the Search String text field above is an ASCII string. Blank area
  21. between words are spaces. The string IS case sensitive.

  23. As a guard against incorrect entry, SAM 3.0 has a "Check field" in the
  24. Definitions dialog boxes. If all of the above information is entered correctly,
  25. then your check field should be A0BD.
